    Look!! A 200!!!

Guys I found this morning on a warehouse this group of old schools! But got in love of one specifically! The car has 194K km, the owner was a girl (R.I.P.) and now is for her father. He doesn't want to sell it cuz of the sentimental value it has and wants to adjust the engine (it's blocked cuz in 20years never started up again). Except of the dirty, the car body is in PERFECT conditions, so is the interior too! Really amazing! I love it!!! Audi 200 5T, non intercooled, K?? only oil refrigerated, FWD, 5spd manual, tempomat, 15" wheels, 4 wheel disc brakes an K-Jetronic!!! beautiful!! ^^ Hope you enjoy the photos!!

Now thats a barn find, make sure you get your name down on it if he does ever decide to sell. It was a rare care in its day, even more so now.

Wow - quite a find alright... Looks like it sat under some trees for a while. If its rot free then it would make a great restoration project.

That must be an MC or 1B engine if its 10V turbo - don't know enough of them visually to tell otherwise - but either way - a very rare car these days.

No - hold one a minute - its even older than that - without an intercooler makes it a WJ or WS engine (same vein as earliest WR engined UR quattro). This was LHD only and looks to be FWD only.

hey guys!! well yes, it's FWD, non intercooled 10V but dunno the displacement! Maybe a 2144cc if it's as Paul said! I got in love of that 200...really! The interior is PERFECT, I didn't see a part with rust all over the body, paint was still in awesome conditions for it's age... I need to talk with the owner and tell him to write my cell phone if he decides to sell it! I'd leave the car 100% original and look like new!! lol But my friend already told me that the car isn't on sale cuz of the value it has for the owner Well I'll make a post on the link that Steve wrote!!!
              Cheers guys!

Its 2144cc alright... WJ/WS engine has same crank, rods and pistons as WR (nominal diameter is 79.5mm versus the 81mm of the 2226cc engine).

Even if the guy isn't for selling - it would be a pleasure to help him get it restored. Shouldn't even cost that much if there is no damage... Just refresh any critical things like brake discs, calipers - renew the transmission oil - and new rings, bearings, oil seals and gaskets for the engine. The fuel distributor will need serviced - and renew the fuel pump too for good measure. Probably needs some fresh brake & fuel lines after this time and coolant hoses too. What I'd call good honest hard work to rebuild this - nothing scarey and complex.

My first fast Audi cost me 400 quid and was made from a gt coupe and a 200 turbo , £250 for the gt coupe, it had a blown engine (through neglect , the oil was like tar ) and £50 for the 200 turbo with a WJ engine in it, it had been in a rear end crash.
I put the JS turbo motor in the coupe along with an intercooler from a later 200, wound up the boost to 1 bar and dialled in the timing until it didn't knock . The old WJ for those who don't know didn't have any computers on it at all for ignition, all done on the dissy which had vacuum advance and boost retard on it, you could give it more retard for more boost by taking a needle file to the little lever slot in the dizzy that controlled the retard function . (serious old school tuning here).
The old WJ only had a 7 to 1 compression ratio !
When id finished the car had cost me £400 and could piss all over a ur quattro to 100mph , upset a few UR owners i came across. You only need 165 HP to equal the power to weight ratio of a UR in a fwd gt coupe ! I had it on a rolling road and it made just under 200hp !
I remember coming across a shiny new S2 at the traffic lights and challenging him to race , believe it or not i stayed in front of him till 60 were i lost my power to weight advantage and he over took me, needless to say he looked a bit shocked .
What made this even worse for him was the fact that my turbo oil seal had gone and the turbo was dumping oil into a red hot down pipe and causing clouds of blue smoke to swirl out of my exhaust , i was sat at the lights revving the engine, blue smoke everywhere when he pulled up next to me, i challenged him to a race , my car looked as it was well fooked i think he thought i was taking the piss . I pulled up at the next set of lights on the east lancs road and wound down the window the S2 driver said what the **** is in that ? I said a 200 turbo motor, sorry i couldn't give you a good race its a bit fooked at the mo.
As you can probably tell this thread has brought back some good memories :mischeif:

That is a nice story mate, nice remembers! I see you loved that 200! Today I found what a nice old school Audi is, and loved it! It could be old, square and whatever you want... but these oldies have something special, a real personality and soul.. not like new cars from the nowadays.

I found this vid on utube... it's in german: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRFR_...eature=related
