Reason why i´m asking is that a escort cosworth with a 330bhp kit(injectors, 3bar map, chip, uprated wg) is doing times in mid 12sec, and it weighs in @ 1350-1420kg, so am i wrong thinking that the audi´s are a bit slow?
i know it´s up to the launches and how high people rev and change gear, but anyway?
A 3b s2 coupe with 280bhp, should easy do a low 13 sec in my appinion or am i wrong here?

My best time with my escort when it had a 330bhp kit was 12,41 / 182km/h and it weighs 1420kg plus me, and my new engine is in the low 11 /high 10sec

I thing that there are lots of things which cannot be compared, cossie, vs s2. like gear ratio, and so on, air temperature, at the time of meassuring. I for example, got an 13.6 on chipped a S4 saloon which has 1690kg + me, and gas, and tire etc, with slow gear change, and winter tires. and around 2 sec 60ft time. Best way will be 2 stock cars, head to head.

As much as its tempting to roll round to 7k rpm - when you look at some GTech runs you see that acceleration is reduced... If you had a bigger turbo that made peak torque in 4.5-5krpm territory then you could use more revs to get you there for the shift.

        Does that make sense ?
Acceleration is maximized by keeping revs as close to the power peak as possible. Peak power is where the combination of engine torque and gear reduction produces the greatest possible thrust force at the wheels for any given speed.
Plot G-force vs rpm in each gear. The shift point is where you see more G's in the next higher gear.

Did a new test a week back and took almost 1sec of the times so new dump and wgfv did help a lot.
Best time off the day was 9,34 sec and 118km/h on the 1/8 mile. time was the same no matter how i launched, but best time was with a launch @ 5500 rpm (lot of wheelspin LOL)
Problem was that intake temp was so hot i burned my hand on the im and piping so will deffo have some more power there.
Am hoping a high 8 sec time next time

Well my car seems to be getting worse. I am now running fries but due to running rich and throwing mixture adaption errors, my times were actually slower than last year with just a standard setup

I have got to get this sorted now! New plugs and new lamda did not help, full boost is always available so no boost leaks but I have a massive flat spot around 4K

Anyone seen something similar and fixed it?

              Cheers n tears
