I've got a couple more pics, but they're not very good quality unfortunately.

The pillar trim and the aluminium channel are rivetted to the pillar upright.
You can access the rivets through holes in the channel behind the door seal:

You need to drill those rivets out, then provided the trim hasn't been bonded to the upright and channel with screen adhesive like mine was , you need to slide the pillar trim about 10-15mm down the pillar and it pops off.

Its held on by these clips:

If you are really unlucky, you will need to spend 5 hours per side with a craft knife carefully cutting the adhesive so you can get the pillar trim off without bending it (aluminium again, be careful)

Heres a pic of the pillar upright:

Just looking at these pics brings back bad memories lol.

That's great info - cheers. I'll see how I get on when I get chance to have a proper look at it.

Ok, so i put wire down the drain channel last night and it seems to have helped but i still got a bit of the wet stuff come in this morning when going round a corner. Am gonna try again later with thicker wire!

Anyone know how to get the inside, headliner coloured, body trim of from the car? Its the bit that runs down the side of the windscreen, from roof to dash on the inside of the car. Is it a simple case of pull? Or are there little clips to be careful of or...?

Then does it just clip back on aftr i have investigated behind it??

i seem to remember (at least on the coupe) that it just pulls off but expect there to be brittle push to fit connectors of which at least some will shear or break off

you need to take the grab handle off first (two screws behind blanking plugs under the handle itself) then the trim pulls off, but be careful as David says the plastic will be brittle and liable to cracking if you're too rough with it

Not sure if its different in the coupes but in the avant its cloth covered. I would imagine the clips are plastic tho. I used to have a coupe but cant remember if the strip was cloth or plastic???

The a pillar trim pulls off but as has been said you need to be careful not to damage it as the clips are quite brittle.
