I need someone with a UR quattro who is free tomorrow please. Daily Mail have been in contact after I sent them my letters and are interested in running a story. Whilst having my alpinweiss in the papers is a nice idea, a UR, in red especially would make the biggest impact.
I need to hear from you TODAY and ASAP.
Cheers,

My mate has exactly what you're after - it's in Glasgow, in storage but can be rolled out and driven up and down a bit for photoshoot if required - it's identical to Ashes to Ashes example (30k miles - licky git).
Just been speaking to Rusty (Andy) in real time... quite a novel concept - after five odd years...
We are assuming they will send a reporter who can also take a snap or two... I assume that the reporter will be wanting a brief chat and interview with Andy as the author of the fine letter so there is no reason why that cannot be done over the phone and a red UR be photo'd at its home location. The UR owner need not provide any comment to the reporter - and actually they should not do so unless they carefully plan what can be said with Andy.
Ideally we get a few old cars to one location for a quick snap - as assembled owners of Audi heritage vehicles - but thats a tough ask at short notice - especially as we really need a red UR to be centre stage. We also need more robust facts and figures about the scale of this problem... It is much more of a problem on the UR and I guess we are looking to those people for insight on the numbers of parts involved. We S2 owners are simplying trying to resist the NLA situation for our own vehicles and that Audi are seen to be actively doing something about it - other than empty words.
Right, panic over for now, this is for the main section on the letters page so a picture of me as author or me and the car is what they're after. The adrenaline, suprise and ambiguity of my previous conversation has now subsided...
Anyway, great to have some press with this

It was never gonna be front page, unless we can tie a red UR into some sort of political sex scandal, but thats national press exposure so well done Andy...
We still need some facts and figures about the level of the NLA problem though. Who can help with that ?
Are we talking about 50, 100, 250 or more parts that are now NLA on the UR ?
Andy, have you registered on quattroforum to let the guys know about the new forum ? There is a wealth of knowledge on what is and isn't available on there. There is also a forum section called NLA Watch may be of help.
Nuvo, if you are on there then please could you represent us on the forum and get that information to our central resource for all to share. Just a tad busy with all this at the mo and a known member is always a good way of getting readers to open the page
