    Electric cars

Ok... please don't throw things at me for mentioning electric cars....

I'm looking for someone who REALLY knows the ins and outs of electric car development projects in the UK...

Which manufacturer/research team are working on viable solutions to the range/charging/cost problems.

Is anyone anywhere near close ?

Just for a starter - despite edia reports that he is... James Dyson is NOT working on this!!!

      To be honest...

Lecky cars will never work until we have mass production/technology to use 'super conductivity' principles.

The problem of range incresse until then, comes down to wierd and wonderfull battery materials and the size/weight of them...complex to make and expensive.

The ic engine is a brilliant design, we need a more sustainable fuel...hydrogen?

I believe hydrogen fuel cells will go way beyond the conventional electric cars for versatility and sustainability.

One problem that continues to be neglected in the UK is the issue with weather conditions ...when an electric car is called upon to perform not just the duty of getting from A to B, but also with windscreen wipers, demisters and interior heating operating when the weather is inclement, the requirements of the power source are seriously challenged and the range of the vehicle becomes heavily restricted.

California can make use of EVs without recourse to heating and wipers on the majority of occasions, the UK cannot.
