Help - what is this part and where did it come from!

Whilst ''testing'' my new homefries this evening, i did a bit of a quick launch, and this part shortly appeared under my left foot. Guessing its fallen down from the pedal box area?

What is it, what does it do and how do i stick it back in? Car feels fine, alto clutch feels a bit lighter possibly. My guess was some kind of pedal guide?

part no is 721 422B/C and it a 93 ABY avant.

Its for the over centre sping on the clutch..

no idea, but looks important, hey if it still works youve just found something else that can go in the bin in the avant diet plan... Lol

Looks like i should have a rouge spring floating around in there too. I would ssume that is why my clutch now feels a bit lighter lol

mcandmar is of course correct. Same thing happened to me when I first bought mine, bought a new one but it's still sat in the glovebox waiting to be fitted! I wouldn't worry about it.
