    Muppet moment!

OK guys we've all done it - something so small but so ludicrously stupid that we feel we should be joining Kermit & Co (or this years Ferrari F1 team )

    Well... here's mine for today:

The UrS4 needed an MoT so I booked it in at a garage at Windermere for 8am this morning and took it though to Rich's (my mechanic) place last night so he could take it up for me and be on hand to correct any minor issues that would stop it failing.

I'd just arrived at work (in Morecambe) at about quarter to eight this morning when Rich rings me

Rich: We have a slight problem

Me: It can't have failed already!

Rich: No.... you've got the keys!

Queue me putting my left hand in my jacket pocket to find one set of S4 keys

Can anyone top this and make me feel better please?
Haynes Manual:As described in Chapter 7...

Translation:That'll teach you not to read through before you start, now you are looking at scarey photos of the inside of a gearbox.

Whilst parking up my motorcycle next to the S2, wasn't paying enough attention, almost let it topple over and while holding it from hitting the ground and the S2, the handlebar still grazed the rear fender slightly near the gas cap....

And to think it hasn't had a scratch from anyone including myself for the past 4.5 years on the road and on racetracks, not even a dented rim !!!!

if that doesn't make you feel better, I don't know what will !

someone's got their wits for a friday afternoon... excited for a weekend working on the Avant?

I did a few daft things the morning after working night-shifts, like locking myself out on the doorstep at 7am (lucky i had a car key on me, slept rough in the 3B) and having a go at someone for calling me, interrupting my sleep and then going mental at them because I couldn't find my phone anywhere... I think the reply was "please tell me it's not the one you're talking to me on now", que a very quiet me.

Had a dream I had written off my car. My pride and joy at the time, was an old beetle. Was a very grumpy git for the morning snapping at my girlfriend until she asked me what was wrong. I told her and she quite rightly pointed out it was fine and on the drive way. I felt a lil bit silly and had some making up to do. Clean thoughts guys! :mischeif:

Also regularly walking into doors and door frames without realising it....

Walked into the side of a parked car the other day, was still half asleep...

                        The list is endless!

                            Key Related Muppetry

Upon returning home from work one saturday afternoon I was asked to look at our flymo by my girlfriend as she was sure it wasn't cutting the grass very well. I walked down the garden to where she and the mower were, crouched down, put my workshop keys (quite a bundle) on the floor, turned over the flymo and inspected the blades. They seemed to still have a suitable edges to them so I turned the mower back over to do a test run and promptly scattered my keys all over the garden!

Was using a high powered hand drill with a carbide drill bit to drill out some stainless steel pipe. Was working ouside, couldnt fins anywhere suitable to attach the vice the top of the wooden fence next to me was perfect hight for me to lean all my body weight on the drill. Promptly attached the vice about head hieght started drilling, needless to say the drill bit got hung up, the top of the fence ripped off the vice went spining into the air, I let go of the drill which then span and smacked me in the mouth bleeding guys and split lip.
Only saving grace, no one saw! Just glad i got away with it could have been much worse!
