    I blew one off!!!

    Ha ha

Went for a drive today, no reason, decided to do some 2nd gear hooning and teh car was a bit off, not for the first time in recent times either Second run the boost was down and then there was a big bang and somethign hit the underside of the car a few times... then the engine stalled

Pulled over having coasted to a stop, pulled the bonnet release and took a deep breath, opened th bonnet and thankfully no oil, no fire and everything seemed to be in place. So then checked the hoses and sure enough, the XM to Samco Mikalor clamp was missing and the pipe was very much detatched

Popped the pipe back on and disconnected the WGFV to help keep boost down and then limped to a local garage, managed to get 2 jubilee clips donated to the S2 cause (thanks Clist & Rattle of Long Ashton, Bristol, also an excellent bodyshop, did my accident repair!). Put it all back together and went Mikalor clamp huntin', should be able to miss that ****** on the road. Drove back up the road and saw the now mangled clamp so created traffic mayhem and retreived it

Then off up the road, tested the new sealed pipe with some overtaking, all good. SOme 30-60 times indicated that the car was now faster so I can only assume that the clamp had been leaking for some time, the boost leak test obviously weren't high enough pressure to show it up!

So there's my little adventure for the day, ruined what was supposed to be a jaunt in the country but solved a problem and at least it wa a simple fix!

TBH, with teh Mikalor clamps, they're so powerful that I don't want to bend anything out of shape. You know with a Jubilee and a screwdriver that you need to get it as tight as possible but with the Mikalor it's a learning experience, that clamp has come off twice already. Will be puttin git back to Jubilee I think, save parking down any more dodgy country lanes

The Mikalores don't clamp in a perfect circle, this might be part of the problem

You seem to have bad luck with your inlet pipes!

            Never had one go!

Had the DV high pressure hose come off after forgetting to tighten it fully.

Having hoses blow off shows I'm trying hard
