Anyone got any pics of a bare S2 prop tunnel?

I'm interested to see if the S2 has any other bracing across the tunnel that the other cars don't have. Theres a few different parts mentioned in the FA around this area specifically for the S2, but i'm not sure if they are becasue of the different exhuast system and twin cats etc.

Has anyone got any pics of the tunnel of an S2 ideally minus exhaust, prop and gearbox?
Doesn't matter if its a coupe or an avant as they share the same floor pan

There are two or three brackets that go across the tunnel on the S2. IIRC one's a thin metal plate, there's an exhaust hanger and the prop centre bearing holder of course.

Hmm... sounds familiar IIRC theres two pressed kind of U shaped brackets on my CQ too....
looking at some extra chassis bracing while the cars stripped and the tunnel looks like it would benefit

totally naked - with the U shaped bracing bracket and bottom flat bracket removed - so there are 2 braces normally, made of relatively thin steel.

I was tempted to construct a brace that ran from the M8 studs sticking out of the floor pan either side of the tunnel - they were used to hold the cat protector ally channels on originally. Then I decided against it and just lopped them off entirely!

I remember looking at that when I was stripping the car. Obviously the S2 floor pan is different anyway due to the wells for the cats.

I see the upright pressed U held by 4 bolts is in the FA ACOQ 803-15 #16 'Filler Plate'. Interestingly the S2 is listed as a different part.

cheers for the pic - I'll compare against my CQ tomorrow evening. How come yours is so clean under there?!

Yeah those are the bits i was unsure about Stu, whether they were bigger / stronger for the S2 or just to accomodate the different exhaust set-up
There is definately room for improvement in the U-shaped brace on the CQ anyway, could cut a chunk out of 3mm steel that would be much stronger than pressed plate as it is.

I thought about welding on some pick-ups for bolt on X-shaped cross brace that could be made from some 2mm wall box section or similar - anything should help the soggy coupe chassis.

That's the shot Andy. The same as I remembered mine was.
The cat protectors are an ABY thing BTW.

The S2 U shape thing is pretty flimsy, I know that. Mine is all bent from where I stood on it, so I was going to make a beefed version anyway.

                    Cheers Andy, thast perfect

                    Theres more S2 specific bits in the FA - ACOQ 803-15 # 11A & 14A

I think i'm going to crawl about under mine tomorrow evening and make some notes, and see whats do-able.

I expect they look like part of the shell. I'm going to have a look tomorrow now too.
