It's been now 4 years (nearly) now with the RS2 and all i can say is that no matter how often it makes me banter when things dont work properly, no matter how much i curse when service parts or near extintion parts are needed and overpriced, no matter how irritated i get when someone comes really close to it,scratches it, bumps it or even looks at it in a certain way making me nervous that i may not find it the next day...
... it always gives me an enormous pleasure to drive it when things ARE working properly and i get the : 'No trouble code found!!" message on the vagtool.
Puts a smile in my face when a few days ago an aston martin vantage stepped on it to show off (and it should,it has a wonderfull engine sound), however never managed to get away from this old 15year old avant.... also wen by it rather fast with even a recir valve being heard!!
and makes the adrenaline run when a little while ago a new white BMW M3 tried to lurk behind the RS2 and when the road cleared ahead, there was no point trying to get ahead, cause up until the 5th gear,M3 started to lay off....
Really i dont mind as these cars are new and more powerfull, but its nice to know that an old avant can still make a loud noise and mean it!
I even managed to empty a 4lit. tank of water/methanol!!! (well i hadnt filled it up for quite a few months! but it makes a big difference on these conditions!!!)
Long live the RS2
