    83mm Head gaskets

I have been asked for one of these. But to keep the cost down its cheaper if i mill 3 or 4 in one go.

Is there any one else that would want one?

No interest with people with 82.5mm pistons or larger?

I would go for one or two.

What would be the price ?

                    .

I'm going to say 'yes'...the piston will encroach into the hg volume a small amount (30-40 thou) but remember the hg is 1.6/1.8mm thick.

Without the 'bored out' gasket you would have to machine the outer edge of the pistons to clear a standard mls (81.0mm bore) gasket.

The 'squish band' area on the piston is important.

                    Hth.

What sort of power would you say the headgaskets will be good for once milled out? Also what do the huge power scandinavian engines use for the headgasket? I am thinking about going to 83mm but I might just stay around 82mm to give a little more wall thickness and more area for the gasket to seal.

G60RALLYE: afaik they use the oem rs2, it will hold the power ( with ARPs ofcourse!)

One thing i've learned we are way behind the Scandinavians!

Well, the work is quite costly and when i made the first few there was little interest and the normal oh yeah i will have one

Machined gaskets? 83mm just to check? Price will depend on the amount i can do a run with.

Yes this would be the best way to do this by far.

Yes CNC'd in a torque plate of such that i had made. I can machine your gasket as long as its brand new. I will only charge the machine costs this way.

They will be the same as a RS2 gasket but with out the problems pointed out by Carlos, I spoke with several High prefomence and custom headgasket companies before i went this route. They all said this would be the best way by far to do this and one even checked the gasket over and agreeded. Other wise a custom gasket would be some where around £350

Thank you very much lind4hl. I already have an RS2 headgasket that came with the engine so I shall give it a shot.
