    Multi-Car Insurance Policies

Any recommendations for multiple car policies in UK (NI) ?

Not sure if its worth the hassle - but then there is the nonsense about no claims discount only being applicable to one policy - so might just get F&T cover on the S2 while it is languishing in the garage.

I used to use it with Admiral and got a hefty discount however some companies will mirror you no claims on two cars if you have a policy with them.

Certainly Greenlight would when I asked

Greenlight get a bit funny if your second har is not deemed 'high performance' enough, they wouldn't touch my Polo GT, not sure on the 318is but I think it's a similar story... not tried them with a Golf GTI. Not sure where the Nugent stable will fit in...

Admiral is kak... just got a quote online... breaks down as £265 for the S2C and £300 for the V6Q... both declared with low annual mileage... Mrs named on both and only the V6 declared for any commuting. Oh and 9yrs+ NCD for both of us. Doesn't strike me as very competitive... Especially when confused.com found me £208 for the S2 on its own !

Just spoke to GL and not too happy As I'm not currently employed they won't be renewing the S2 policy, also they said that the 318is isn't high performance enough for them

GL seems a funny bunch - they want to insure performance cars only, but have their own rules about what that list does or duzznt include. Tried them anyway - waiting for a call or Email back.

i pay near a grand for the rover and the audi so they look cheap to me.

i have 8 years no claims but maybe the oldham/manchester postcode adds a 10000x multiplier.

Looking at £1k to insure the IS and S2 with Admiral or Esure (cheapest on Confusededededed.com). Need to have a think, IS is looking like costing more than the S2! Bloomin' BMs!

Have requested a call back from our latest sponsors, Sky Insurance, see what they can do...

Swift Cover let you use your full no claims on a second car, there's no mention of it on the website so you can't do it online but a quick phone call sorted it out for me. I was with them for two years and had no problems, but I don't know how they are when it comes to making a claim.

Just spoke to HIC as I have a current policy with them and they are looking into doing some dizzy for 2 cars, see what they come back with, that's with agreed value on the S2 and like for like...

Car insurance = totally pheckin random experience

GL wants more than double what I got quoted online thru confused.com - just for the S2. WTF - they must be scared of the NI thing still...

Just off the phone to Admiral who still want £260 for the S2 and just under £300 more to add the V6Q. I've declared total mileage between them as 5k and stated the V6 is going to be my main car. They did apply some NCD onto the V6 but when I queried the guy why it was MORE expensive to insure an older, less powerful, less valuable car - the answer was bizarre - its cos I haven't owned it as long and the V6 has a bigger engine. Thank god these numpties don't have any brain cells - they would only hurt themselves...

Chr1st there must be a cheaper and legitimate way to insure two old cars for a decent price in this day and age.

Sadly not, I have spent the last four or five years building up a 2nd NCB on my other daily driver. It now finally less than the S2....

Let this be a reminder why the S2 is such a great car... it's a real sleeper even with the insurance company's!

It costs me half as much to insure my S2 (granted on a 5k policy) as it does my Golf TDi Oh an that's no NCB on the S2 as well...
