Oh FFS - see my other thread on insurance companies today - and then this comes up to back me right up. What an absolute joke - I think we need a really good reference / sticky thread on this subject so that people know how to deal with this crap. It winds me right up.... They take hundreds of pounds a year of us all, usually have a ton of small print for exclusions and mandatory excess fees - then when you need them most have the sheer audacity to try and rip you off with a 'valuation' that sees them and their middle men laughing all the way to the bank...

And they wonder why there are so many un-insured vehicles on the road. I'm going to have an embalism - I better calm down

        Gutted man!!

Same story with me. If you insurer is elephant too perhaps we could have some sort of coordinated effort. I can forward you the stuff i sent last week if you want, not that they have read it yet for me to give any feedback on how it went.

Last year I was in an accident in my 91 90 20vq, it was a total loss and I was offered a little less than $900 for the vehicle. I was gutted, I looked around and submitted all of my findings to them. I argued that it was impossible to find a similar vehicle for that price that was all wheel drive. I emailed them for sale ads for similar Audi's and ended up getting $2750 for the car, and I got to keep it (I ended up parting it for extra cash).

I feel for you, but don't let insurance companies walk over you. Remember that they are a BUSINESS and they are in the business of making money, not to help you.

          best of luck

Well i've been gathering evidence from the net but it's hard trying to find avants for sale but i have 5 printed off at the mo. There is no way in hell they are getting away with it. It is not my insurance company that have valued it, i think it's the old boys company? It will be sorted some way or another. Hopefully.

            Thanks for the help lads.

              Lets take a breth.
This has arrisen due to the assessor not knowing what it is. There are no S2s in the valuation books so he has just looked at it as an old Audi estate.
Easi drive have had this before and all they want is some classified adds. They use independent assessors.
There are fools in all systems.
When we have sorted this out it will bode well for future non fault claims. If anymore non fault accidents happen deal with them through me and they will gain a history of values for our cars.
I deal with insurance companies alot and Easi drive are by far the fairest and most flexable i've found.
Trust me this will end happily!

No its nothing to do with the old boys Saga company. All this is happening through Easi drive so only one company to deal with. They are working for you, I wish you would have given them a chance before sharing the joy....

Sorry i wasn't getting at them i know you are doing your best. I didn't know it was all do by easidrive. I don't doubt them at all so far so good. Brilliant company so far and it was a little mistake on the value front. I know this will end up with a happy ending cause your on the case.

Again for the record i would recommend any one to easi drive through Rob as they have been brilliant with the replacement car and sort things out super quick. They keep in contact and ring nearly everyday to see how things are going to make sure i'm happy, and to let me know where they are with things.

Nice one Rob - such a pity there aren't more bodyshop folk as clued up, switched on and dealing so nicely with damage assessors. I'll try to curtail my general anger at the motor insurance industry for another while then

Good news that Rob is 'sorting' you out....

it does seem we are all having to take evasive action in our cars....I am always having to think and drive around your typical numpty's on the roads these days...

If it was written off - would the insurance company not give you a handsome payout - and the option to buy your car back at a reasonable price - allowing further investment or options>>>>>

                              Just my 2 cents......
