recently drove 750 mile round trip from plymouth to Ipswich and achieved an average of 34mpg!! With my avant, 4 up and suitcases in the boot.Stuck to 80mph Car running a homefry.
Who said s2's arent economical?
yeah not bad for 160k on the clock!! Was running superplus so I know Mr Nugent will be enjoying reading this, I wonder if using shell optimax would of been any better?
On a run down to Hertfordshire for a karting competition from my house, Wigan, I had the readout giving me an average of 37.5mpg. When I filled up and worked out the amount of juice put in to the amount of miles covered (filled up then zero'd the trip at the start) I had it as just under 40mpg, about 39.8 if memory serves me correctly. That was setting off about 3am and averaging 80mph on a clear run all the way there in cold, rainy conditions, and back somehow. That was an S2 Avant Nothelle, full Milltek system minus cat, k&n panel filter & RS2 MAF with Roose's full hose kit.
Usually round town I'm getting 23-24mpg on the readout, but, that very, very easily drops into the teens not a patch on my old 5pot 2.5TDi A6 which would get upto 50mpg round town and 55 on a run without trying - with 180k on the clock, amazing car!
