Sussex Coast to Manchester... And to be fair I could probably have done better (70mph all the way) if I'd tried harder... But you're right, it was mindnumbingly boring....

Rugby to south coast 80 on the dash using cruise control made 31.2 mpg with just me in the car and all standard - hmmm homefry would pay for itself in fuel on a decent run it seems.

Must be the added weight but my S6 avant always ends up at the same 'magical' 22.2!

The last 100km's I had 7.7L/100km = 36.7 mpg in medium traffic on a small german autobahn,
            cruising as usual I get from 9 L/100km = 32 mpg to 11 L/100km = 26 mpg,
least efficient autobahn run with a full loaded Avant and a air leak was about 17 L/100km = 16.6 mpg

Best ECU software for fuel economy, that I have seen, is 264hp MTM Stage 1.
It gives me always around 7.9-8.4/100km highway (36-34mpg), and I do not drive in a very docile manner. Downshifts to 4th and quick overtakes are normal also...
Last long distance run with 4 people in the car netted 35mpg. My car is a 95.5 UrS6 Avant with a 6-speed manual box.

I haven't had the choice to try Paul's homefry, so can't comment on that.

I average 17. I don't see how you guys can get over 30. Even on a long cruse 25 is about my best. The trip
computer is complete bs even before mapping. You need to measure the fuel used. Lpg is the only thing that makes my car driveable. Remember 450 HP is 2 - 2.5 l of fuel per minute. You got to feed the horses.

yes but cruising at 100km/h you are not using the 450hp....maybe only you was using 65hp...

my best software for fuel economy it is the MTM 3b to RS2 specs...used with the k26/27 turbo and 440cc/3bar injectors

with my 19"´s and 235/35 wheels.... making always the same 100kms between my home and girlfriend´s home...i was doing 8´7liters/100kms making 90of the 100kms at 130km/h speedo with my girlfriend behind me with her´s Opel corsa 1´4 16v

AFR values at 130km/h in 5th gear are between 14/15... i think that they are not too dangerous for cruising without turbo loads true??

edit: i remember i did 650kms with a complete fuel tank of 98ron fuel with the Hamon Motor software for 3B to RS2 specs too

every aftermarket software are much better for fuel economy i think, because the stock 3B chips for 220hp goes too rich under 0´8bar turbo or crusing¡¡

Yeah I'm on Lpg. It's a good job.almost halves your fuel bill. Needs a good setup for big power
