Just watched the Audi Channel from 19:30... Much hope ensued when I realised it was about Coupes and there was a superb line up Audi 100 Coupe S, Audi Coupe GT, Audi S2 and Audi A5... I was so pi$s£d off by 19:50 I sent Audi this...

It's 19:55 on Tuesday evening, and having tuned into the Audi Channel to avoid Eastenders I was delighted to see there was a programme on about Audi Coupes... This delight, was short lived, for they showed a scintillating display of everything from the A5 to the 100S coupe... Lovely...

I settled back to some horrendous twaddle about the inner functioning of MMi and the intuitive seat functions.. (I pretty much sussed that pulling a lever up, made the seat go up!).... By 20.00... Or two zero, point zero.zero in MMi speak... There was still no hint of looking at the gorgeous Audi Coupe 100S, Audi Coupe GT or Audi S2 Coupe longingly lined up behind the, admittedly, very competent, Audi A5...

The problem is, put simply, Audi do seem painfully shy of it's heritage in desperation of today’s sales...

The programme was painful....

its been an eternal disappointment since it popped up on sky IMO....I think I have seen one Group B programme and one about Le Mans and a programme on their sponsorship if the FIS Tour and the rest is awkward presentation in an almost QVC-esque desperation at selling cars.

Surely its possible to do more with it that they do...

They couldn't have said much about the old cars because all they know about is explaining gadgets, not how the old cars had soul...
From what I have read and heard from new Audi owners they seem just as peeved off as us with the stealers. If it cannot be fixed using the laptop they are fooked..and there seem to be a lot of regular poor engineered faults coming up with the new models, some of which you would never have expected on our older cars at the same age. A shame they seem to have accountants running the company now, when they had an engineer in charge things were different?!!

I agree, Ive seen one good Group B/quattro program just after the channel launched and thought it was going to be really good... sadly not!
Unfortunatly they are never going to do a show saying how good the ol Audi's are, or they may as well say the new ones are crap

Someone could always write to them on a positive note asking if they would be interested in doing a short documentry on the S2? Im sure there would be a big meet up for that!!

See here is a question - what do the majority of mr & mrs normal driving around in fresh Audi products think about the 'heritage' vehicles I wonder... That Audi channel is just advertising and marketing - I wonder what the viewers would think about programs which seek to inform and educate them on some meaningful history and 'old cars' worthy of note. Obviously it would have to be tinged with - 'those old cars were nice, but come along to the showroom and test drive a superior spangly new one today' every few minutes... I dunno - maybe its just us die hard old school runners that are strange.
