WTF is wrong with UK car insurance people

I've now spoken to three insurance companies - BIG names and little names - trying to get a fire and theft only policy to cover the S2 while I lay it up off road for much needed TLC... None of them have a product they can sell me... Internet searches turn up **** all so far except mostly bulletin boards from people like me whinging about it.

FFS - why is everything so ****ing complicated these days ?

Even my existing insurer wouldn't change cover for my needs - so I binned them off and went to a better quote from another supplier to cover the V6 on the road.

Why do we pay insurance anyway - **** sake. Bunch of useless ******s...

Agreed, I bloody dread the yearly trawl around for the best quote/policy.

Have you tried some classic car insurance specialists for a 'laid-up' policy Paul?
If it's going to be off the road it might be the cheapest option, though I don't think you can get an agreed value with these type of policies.

Try Sureterm they did say would insure the S2 as a future classic and are a young aggressive firm so maybe more happy to please.

They recently halved my family members insurance

Cheers chaps - there is maybe hope for me then... Sorry for all the xxxing bad language BTW - my bad - but it does make my blood boil... Years ago it was easy - just call up a local broker and ask for 'laid up fire & theft only' cover and you got three quotes to choose from. Nowadays you have to go thru umpteen websites to populate with the same info - to be told 34 mouse clicks later that they don't offer this kind of cover... So you start calling people - hoping to contact a human being with a modicum of ****ing common sense that could find me suitable cover - but their ****ing scripted call centre screens don't give them the option so you get 'computer says no'. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - so called progress in modern day living. I'm off to live in a cave on a desert island
