A6 rear brake pipe heads up!

Just fixed a potential brake pipe problem on my old mans A6, its a 97 Five pot C4 chassis I think..
There is restrictor between the hard line on the rear axel and the last flexie to the caliper. I was just doing service and noticed ALOT of corrosion at the joint. Gave it a wiggle and just fell apart!
The restrictor is aluminium threaded into the steel ended flexie. So corrodes extreamly well! other side was the same.

Just thought I'd post a few have similar beats!

whilst we're on this topic, my 98 r reg a6 1.8t brakes gave up 1 day and it was due to the rear flexi where it meets the caliper... no copper washer or seal just 2 machined faces that dont stay sealed forever, so if you have no brakes 1 day it may be worth checking first lol

Surely that is a fundamentally bad material choice there - or has there been some previous repair with non standard parts used. Certainly doesn't exude confidence !

No previous repair, got the new parts from TPS, same again. The restrictors are on the album. Its a crude way of bais adjustment. Its a tiny hole the fluid has to get through.

I have had A4s in with corroded aluminium sealing washers on the rear. Change them to copper as they should have been from the factory!

Bizarre - not being funny - have you / should you inform Audi ?
Would this not be something of consideration for a possible recall ?
