B3 80 Sedan 16V Quattro

I have a H plate 2.0 16V Quattro B3 Sedan and was wondering if anyone has any idea how many of these were built for the UK.

I’ve had 2 other 8V versions on a G/H plate but not seen another 16V anywhere. Guy I got it from said it was a 'Sport' version but I have nothing to confirm that. It does have the S2 style gauges in the centre console and has the 3 spoke S2 style wheel without the badge, also has a rear spoiler....

Handles well, getting a little tired now with 215K on the clock!!

Pondering on an S2 engine in it as have 2 crashed S2s hanging about, but if they are rare Ill leave it alone!!

Its been posted up on a different forum, I used it recently to find out (thanks to spink) how many s4's are left. About the same as an s2 avant currently with the numbers dropping fast.

Seems its a rare old beast then, 206 made ever!! Wow, no wonder Ive never seen another for sale, needs a full re-spray but is prob worth restoring I guess!!

Those 2 pages make for interesting reading... Seems my 1992 80 quatto saloon is in sparse company then - only 171 imported to UK. No idea how many survive nowadays...

Isn't funny though how the UR owners think they are so rare and special... The less famous models are some of the forgotten sons of Ingolstadt !!!

Blimey, I wish I'd bought the Audi 100 Avant Turbo I looked at and test drove back in the late 90's!
Proper rare!

I had one in Laser red with red "quattro" script seats, red carpet and red door trims. That sounds horrible but it was really nice. It had electic windows, sunroof, A/C the lot.

It also drove beautifully and handled well too. It was quick off the line also. Unfortunately I drove it into the back of a Clio after 5 weeks of ownership, taking the cambelt off and wrecking the engine. Stupidly, (not knowing what I had at the time) I took the total loss for it and let it go for salvage. A bloke later contacted me for the service history as he had put it back on the road.

I really miss that car even now.

I have never ever seen on like it since either, a very rare beast with those options and extras...
