Wooooha, thats some replys and links guys THANKS!!!
im not too fussed where in the 11s as long as it is an 11 sec pass. Ive been doing high 12s in FWD with 270hp so i need to go lower
It wont be a full racer as i dont really want to be driving it like its a v-tec to get boost every time im using it on the roads.
Maybe if i get the stroker sorted ill opt for the GT35 as the extra CC will help the spool up time.
A friend runs a GT42 on a 3.3 engine and there is no lag what so ever, makes a bar at 3000rpm.Comment

Stroker is prob. the best way to get the performance and driveability that you're after. Plenty of threads on stroker builds and different ways of doing it, not cheap but then these things rarely are.
I take it this is all going into a B3 90q? They're a bit lighter than the S2s so that helps, stiffer than the coupes too. Work on minimising the weight and get some light wheels on there, all helps. Sure there are other ways of removing weight, I'm currently stripping hte sound deadeningout of my coupe, aim is to shed around 20kg, all helps.Cheers'en, AndyC

Yea a type89, been following your thread on weight saving and cant believe how much weight is in the coupes.
I bought the audi to make full use out of the quattro system on the quarter but its going to be a daily too, the mrs has her family car and i usually drive a van so ripping the interior out of the 90Q is prob going to be on the cards as it wont be needed.
Been looking at the stroker bits and it dont look too bad, the reason why i want to max out the AAN to start off with is because i dont want to be buying parts for two engine builds, A gt35 would prob be best suited to the stroker but the 30/71 best for the AAN.

Yeah, pick a single project and stick to it. Everything I have done to my car has been with a nod to fitting a 3071 or similar (400-450bhp).
Good luck with the stroker build, you'll have to get that sorted before you can do anthing else. In the meantime, might be worth getting the AAN homefried and enjoying lag free fun and (with a few toys) nearly 300bhp of silky I5.Cheers'en, AndyC

Until you have to custom fit and buy stupid parts
however the torque is lethal
Easiest route for a stroker is the 92.8 crank in the standard block deck ala Christian at 034, Flat on my back and monstereddie if your building a race / drag car as you get the weight penalty of the diesel block.
I've noticed on mine the springs have compressed at least 5mm due to the weight.Comment

I was running 1.8 Bar boost on the 3071 with 97 Fuel.
I dont have a 60' foot time from the official drag event, but i have a Gtech Run which is pretty close to what i did. ( Gtech usually traps witin 0.1 of the Vbox)

I was looking at that option (2480cc?) for the extra revs but does anyone know where the crank is from yet? (apart from C&R)

It's not from a european car, it's from an industrial engine, there is also a US diesel that has the crank AFAIKI was looking at that option (2480cc?) for the extra revs but does anyone know where the crank is from yet? (apart from C&R)

11.45@ 195 km/H shut off on 4th gear due to no fuel in the tank
Full weight S2 avant with bad r tyres (wheel hop deluxe) 1.87 sec 60-foot time
33 degrees celcius outside, 10 sec is doable, but with better tyres and cooler weather, and ofc more fuel
GT35R 788cc injectors, bigger maf , tuned by Claus @ Turbocenter Sweden, Machined 7a cams (sticking with stock 7a next time) ported IM, custom EM, 3" downpipe and 100cell cat (at race too!!) one big and one small muffler. Streetcar passed MOT exactly the way it was at raceday. Custom IC and airways. 044 fuel pump in tank and hi-flow filter, 044 was put too high in the tank therefore the fuel starvation at the last run..
Erixon went 12.32 with an Rs2 turbo so 3071 is the turbo you need to go 11's with a good driver and well tuned car. We will try to go 11's with his car later this summer if he has the balls to hand over the driving to me

With his Rs2 setup that is.Last edited by prosty; 19 July 2009, 11:24.2004 9-5 aero
