My car is full of water.... AGAIN

Just been out to the S2 and the offside rear footwell has half an inch of water in it. I just need a small duck and it would be a bonafide pond.

I really want to just set fire to it sometimes.

i had this on my 80 coupe last winter and the cause was the bonnet pull gromet coming loose. Open the bonnet and look near the fuse box (if that is the side above the bonnet pull under the dash, mine is a LHD), and you should see the bonnet pull cable going down into the dash/cockpit and there should be a rubber grommet there, check if its loose.

Last winter in germany the water got really bad (about 2 inches) in the foot well and then froze solid. It was interesting trying to operate the pedals above ICE!

yes i was too lasy to warm up the interior before going to work...was late

      But its fixed now.

      Hope thats your problem.

      Peace.

I had the same problem and if you look at my picture that's what came out of my Audi pond! Someone said it could be the holes in the sunroof being blocked, but if you pour water through the holes and it runs out when the doors are open then that's not your problem.
Basically I bought some door seals from Noel (forum) and it solved the problem. Now it's dry like Mars, no water will ever be found !
This was my boss and I know for a fact if he was around today he would be driving a sick ABY armour plated S2 1500 bhp....

I already replaced the bonnet grommet but I suppose it might be that again. I will take a look when it's not throwing it down.

When the interior's not full of interior (I know what I mean, I currently have a full interior bolted in and 2 x sets of rear seats and doorcards in the boot) then I think I'll sit in the car and get someone to run the hosepipe over it to see where it's coming in. But all that work refitting my lovely Recaro interior has gone to waste now as the carpet'll have to come out again. Grrrrr.

It does mate yes. I know it was definitely leaking from the bonnet pull grommet before but I suppose everywhere's a suspect now

I have a spare sunroof seal, as for some reason the previous owner of mine had brought one but never used it...
