We have made an enhancement so that old threads should now link from search results to the correct thread. This is not yet in place for single post links
I need to clean up a few threads on my hubs. One on each hub so i assume the previous owner had a set of locking bolts the wrong thread.
Can somebody please explain this first tap, second tap, plug tap, and taper tap difference to me. Which is most suitable to clean up an existing thread?
Thanks,
Mark.

Top one is a first, middle is a second, bottom is a plug. If your tapping a hole from scratch, you start with the first as it's got a bigger taper and makes it easier to get started. The plug tap is used for tapping all the way to the bottom of a blind hole. For your purposes you can use a second or a plug. I bought one off Ebay the other day for exactly the same use.
