So guys my s2 avant needs new pads. She has standard brakes but ebc pads which now need replacing. Fronts mainly. Anyone know the part number for the red stuff pads As the green ones only go upto 200bhp. Or any suggestions for decent cheaper alternatives. Cheers guys

Not a fan of EBC, tried the greens once and they were like cardboard. Chewed through them in no time. Still have the reds in the back after four years and honestly they have not worn one single bit. Going to bin them too...
Of the pads i have tried,
Textar, ok for daily driving, very soft pedal feel, and produce lots and lots of black dust. They also fade pretty quickly when you punish them.
AP Lockheeds, much better than the other two above. Very solid feel to them but some people might find them a little wooden. Work well though.
Pagids, new set in the avant but havent done enough miles to comment on them yet.91CQ20v - Gone to a new home

im not a greens' fan. used them and were good on the turbo groove discs from ebc but on others pretty poor.
im runnnig reds in the 6 pots and they are ok. ive had better. its the usual issue with big brakes that they take a bit to warm up and then throw you through the window.
the general is that ds2500's are the way forward but heavy on the pocketComment

I used EBC greens on my 205 with EBC turbo groove disks. I found them to be fantastic. Very nice feel, progressive through the heat range, work from cold to very hot, and little pad wear with virtually no dust. That said, the 205 weighs nothing compared to an S2. I would have thought greens would be useless on an S2 (as seems to be the thinking here) but I would think Reds would be the ideal fast road option for the front. As for the reds not wearing at all on the rear, doesn't surprise me much really, I would be tempted to go for greens on the rear.Comment

DS2500s are £198 though! EBC are around 50. Thats for 891 DE2500s for Brembos.Comment

Shocked, exhausted, hosed, bushed, dumped, chipped, mounted, filtered, gauged, packed, intermittantly wiped and braked. I mean broken. Now, about the car...Comment

Cheers, still thats 3 sets of EBCs!
I think I may use the DSs for track and EBCs for the road as I have two sets of disks.
Sorry for stealing the thread!Comment

No they're not! As I said in my post Circuit Supplies = £120 delivered. I dont' think Green Stuffs for 996s will be £50, that's Textar money.
Stock rear pads were cheapest from Balance Motorsport, £60 delivered.Cheers'en, AndyC

I called circuit supplies, 198 was quoted.
Redstuffs are £50 as far as I remember, I do get a decent discount on them though.Comment
