Window tint warning...

i got stopped by the `rozzers`about 12 months ago same do you know what i`ve stopped you for etc pulled out hiis light meter i think it was something like 89% it was very dark though he said he could actually impound the vehicle but he gave me a week to take it off i did, a week later knock knock can i look at your car sonny!

Not quite. Same rules apply. Only allowed CAT 3, anything above is illegal to drive with.

To be brutally honest, you don't drive around at night with sunglasses on. You can take them off. However you can't remove tints for night time driving, which is why these rules are in place! Night time driving + pedestrian in black clothing = accident waiting to happen IMO.

What do you mean im breaking the law with rear tints back window and back doors..
Also thats why my windows go up and down..
I have been pulled a few times and never a mention about it so i canny see as its illegal on the back just like a van but with a better view. even with a sticker.

The enforcement people should stick to their own rules when it comes to this sort of thing - if they don't have the measuring equipment they cannot really make a judgement.

That said, I see no logical point in aftermarket tinting ...doesn't make the car any quicker.

Of course it does its like a little steering wheel it adds at least 20bhp the same as sport seats another 30hp metal pedals 50bhp.
And the tints are not just to look cool they stop scumbags looking in
So for that reason tints are a security measure,
Although my tints are close to coming of now..

Back windows are fine, it's front windows you use when you're driving. The CAT 3 was regarding the sunglasses.

the reason I was given is so they can see the driver/front passenger...so you can have a mass murderer in the back and they aren't not interested!!!

Didn't you tell them you hadn't noticed the tinting as you are registered blind...
