    Sad day!!

Its a very sad sad day!! my s2 avant has finaly reached the limits of my pockets and i have run out of money and time to continue fixing the her! in the last year i have fixed and upgraded the front brakes, over hauled the rear, replaced the head gasket and head, sensors, replaced and upgraded the exhaust manifold and system and many other parts and still needs odd bits doing for its impending MOT in 2 weeks..

So struggling to decide what to do with her as she still need odd bits doing. So trying to decide whether to sell her as she is!! depending on what she is worth or whether to break her up for parts..

Other than the problems with her i have loved the car and enjoyed ever minute of the last year and quarter of owning her. Just Wish i could win the lottery and finish sorting out everything on her...

    I feel for you M8....

IMO - I would sell her rather than break her...

Sure someone on here would love to take a nearly finished project on !!!

      Sorry to hear that
These cars can be a labour of love for sure! Its just how long your wallet and sanity can last!
My blue one drove me mental, I spent more than I bought the car for sorting bits out and getting it how I wanted, by the time I had done all that I lost heart and sold it.
Now Ive got my 2nd one, and made sure it was spot on thanks to everything I learnt about the first, how about doing something similar if you love it as much as it sounds you do.
Sell it, save up and let you wallet recover a bit and then get on the hunt for a really good one with all the bits/usual problems sorted like I did

PLEASE sell it as a complete car - breaking an essentially healthy / repairable one is bad karma...

              sad day

dest, yes i do plan on owning another s2 in the future as i have loved mine and s2central i have to agree, i have never scrapped any of my previous cars and i would prefer not to brake her up. Biggest problem is i don't know what i could get for her as she is.

what do you think she is worth:

              1993 L reg audi s2 avant
              Emerald green pearl
              11 mounths tax
              2 weeks mot
              155000 miles
              aby engine
              homefry ecu
              6 speed gearbox
              upgaded front barakes
              18" b7 rs4 type alloys with 225/40 r18 tyres.
full black leather interior with carbon trims, uprated infinity speakers and also plasma gauges to go in.
              tow ball

Engine work done with in the last mounth:
The engine has just had new head gasket, recon aan head with new lifters, new water pump, tensioner, cam belt, uprated crank sprocket, new exhaust manifold, new after run pump, new mfts, new lambda sensor, new power steering pump. also mark h mod to intercooler done as well.

              Exhaust done 9 mounths ago:
3" custom made stainless steel turbo back exhaust with 6x4 oval tip, also got a 100cell sports cat to go in

Brakes done less than 2 mounths ago:
323mm a8 front brake upgrade with comp brake pro7 calipers fitted
              new rear discs and pads,

rear calipers replaced 5 mounths ago.

New uprated blue front top mounts, powerflex wishbone bushes on front less than six mounths ago, also new steering track rod ends

Also just had an immobilser fitted in the last two mounths.

i have been over the car and yes i no what it needs as i used to be a mechanic and mot assistant. it needs: o/s track rod arm, flexi brake hoses for rear, upper rear wishbone bushes, my need a shock replacing, im fairly certain it needs a new maf sensor, possibly could do with changing the fpr aswell, o/s front outer cv joint, abs sensor, need to overhaul the waste gate or replace n75 valve, alternator needs new voltage regulator, 4 wheel alignment.

As mentioned sit on it for a bit then make your decision.

I can understand Pauls point of view BUT at the end of the day its a fact that cars break for more than they sell for, I've added up what mine would break for and it exceeds what I would expect to be offered and judging on all the bits you have recently purchased you would get back a good amount.

If your trying to make money and have some space then breaking it is the only way, if you don't mind losing a bit then sell it whole, atleast its gone and it won't be costing you anymore money.
