0-100mph times

What level of power is required to get 0-100mph in less than 10s? Chipped S2 @ 290-300bhp is about 13s, just interested.

well, a turbo 996, does about a little under 10seconds, so i think that somewhere between 400-500hp for the s2

Hmmm, torque on the biturbo 996 will be higher (larger area under the curve) than the little 2.2 can manage I guess.

educated guess is about 350
however you could reduce the aerodynamic drag by making flush fitting fiberglass for the underside, since above 60 start enter significant issue there, however i dont imagine it would make a wild pile of difference.
what speed does a s2 coupe top out in 3rd? does get to 100 or do have shift for 4th?

In an ABY your looking at about 400hp but if 3rd gear is too short then you'll need a bit more.

The 3b comes out trumps being over 100kg lighter and having a taller 3rd you could do it with about 370hp.

97mph in 3rd on a aby whilst 115 (iirc) mph on an aby.

My s2 golf does 100 in 7.4, but does weigh 1140kg.

I,m currently planning on getting this into the low 6`s with a better tyres, better launch and a bit of a tune up on the engine side.

Yes still running the standard 016 box, tough as old boots!!. It started life as a WR.
