b3/b4 coupe and such inspired office/man room:

So in recent times i've decided to let my coupe unravel itself. Physically i just don't have the energy to take on what might be on the list of things to do in the near future. I pushed for a very long time these past few months and really got a great education with alot of things. However the sedan is more practical and easier to find parts for it. It was disturbing taking the coupe apart but for the most part its' done. I've been posting parts forsale on audifans, but i started to think about things and came up with a plan.

The plan? I'm not necessarily going to make my coupe completely disappear. It's going to be part of my office/ whatever i want room. How? I'm not sure yet but i've got alot of parts to play around with and ideas in my head.

    Here's a few:

I've got a three metal desks. I'm going to refinish one of the desks with the left over paint. So It will be wild but i'll like it. I've got a few sway bars. I think they might become curtain hangers. I've got a few sets of front strut housing and they will become legs of something. Maybe end tables on the side of the futon. I'm even considering putting a Front end on the wall. I'd source a hood cut it to maybe 8inches long, get b4 headlights, and shorten the fiberglass rs2 crappy bumper i have and so on and mount it on the wall behind the desk. I collected model cars when I was really young. I think I might take one of the shelving systems at the garage and paint it green too and put the model cars on it.
Engine coffee table? You betcha. Driver and passenger seat if they don't sell as office chairs. Sure thing.

Some ideas that pop into my head list:

    Cone filter: lamp shade
    k24 turbo: lamp base
Radiator fan (stock 5 cylinder and shroud m or extra spal): office fan
(need ac to dc convert) (need to make it finger proof)
    Tie rods? not sure yet
    Axles: legs for another desk?
    Spring? not sure

I'm not sure how this is going to start. I'm not sure when it's going to happen either. However feel free to add ideas on what a possible car part can become in an office. Tasteful stuff. If u think i'm nuts.. it's ok i think I'm too but i've got some crazy idea in my head now about having a really fun crazy office in my life and it's going to happen.

    Enjoy life
    Josh

P.S. I've had this idea in the back of my head for awhile now. What really started it? I went to IKEA on the drive back to Rhode Island with the girlfriend. I've never been in an IKEA before until today. As nice as it was, doing what I do for a living and seeing countless people in there all buying the same things made be feel like a robot so to speak. It really made me sick when I saw all the wall pictures you can buy. I've got an art background. My parents when to art school. My grand father and great grand father painted for a living in Venice, italy. I just couldn't see myself ever becoming that IKEA person. Don't get me wrong, I bought stuff to please the girlfriend and maybe 3/4 of the house might have IKEA stuff here and there but not my room.

So if u have ideas: Post them. I'll keep them in mind.

    Hmmmm

So when i cut my coupe up i'm going to cut the front end of it off. I've got everything I need and it's now going to be a RS2ish TV stand. If i get board maybe even I'll find spray paint to make it RS2 blue. I think it might go well with the green desk. No worries becuase the RS2 headlights are going on the sedan but i've got a US extra driver side headlight and only need the passenger side headlight(i'll be **** too and get clear corner markers). Maybe even i'll hook up speakers in the bumper grills. The rs2 bumper is fiberglass and it's so great so i don't mind hacking it up if I choose to shorten it.

hehe.. I'm fooking nuts these days but u only live once.

The thing with me and the sedan is that I bought the sedan a few years ago. I was going to get rid of the coupe and keep the sedan from the very begining. I was just too attached to the coupe to let it go and now these days i'm really not that attach to it. It's not because it's overwelming, it's not because i'm really tired these days but mainly in my opinion. To have fun with the car I build. To have alot of fun with it. I needed something not really rare. I want to go drive the thing and not care. I wanted the idea of being able to get stuff for it and not having to go nuts trying to find parts. In the past year I tried to make the coupe less of pain in the ***. I tried to make it more user friendly. However it's just not going to be the car I find user friendly. There is a v8 still going in the sedan at some point. I just need to figure out a better plan on how to do things.

With the sedan now i've basically got a b5 rear end including suspension, rear diff and exhaust. I've got A4 rear hubs on it allready and a b5 s4 sway bar. I hope to get a v8 rear differential in the near future and swap in one of the coupe transmissions that I own. I've also got a b5 rear exhaust and it will work pretty well too. I just have to modify the mounts a bit. I don't need a custom coupe quattro exhaust, or
s2 rear hubs, or take the insides of the v8 rear diff and put them in the coupe differential. I don't need to make mods to put s4/s8 brakes on the rear of the sedan.

In the end i save time, money, and a big headache. I plan on having fun in the engine bay with the sedan. I can keep ABS now too which is nice because it clears both the v8, the v6 biturbo, and 5 cylinder engines.

It will work out. I just wish i was able to let go of the coupe soon. In the end I'm not really letting it go now. It's basically going to be around me everyday in bits and pieces in my office.

Well I got one solid idea going. I'll post pics probably tomorrow but it's a lamp or a steering wheel with a steering column depending on how you look at it. to my madness.

I need to figure out the details but looks like a piece of cake to make it. I probably will make two if it goes ok. I've got matching 4 spoke steering wheels I just need another column at some point. Is it sad that i'm looking for a brushed aluminum type lamp shade? I'm thinking of getting a aluminum kettle pot ( on ebay now) and either leaving it aluminum or painting a car color. I really need to consider doing this as a hobby/living if this were to work decently. HMMMMMM.... I need to get myself some basket weeve 15" rims as lamp shades. That would be so purdy.
