Hi guys, I am in a morale dilema at the moment, the credit crunch has finally hit and i have to get rid of one of my prized possesions which is breaking my heart!! I have to get rid of my Corrado VR6 or either the Audi S2 they are both in excellent condition which is all the reason why its making the decission really hard. Have any of you got an opinion of which car to keep?? I know this is the S2 forum so naturally you are going to go for the S2. Could you please help with this heavy decision giving pros and cons for the argumant above!!!
Which will get you the more money to help you out of your crisis?
which do you spend more on maintaining to keep on the road?
which do you drive more?
Which is worth more keeping hold of in the long run?
Which is better suited for your needs?
answer them five questions and see what the results are, hope you find a decent way to sort this out, i've been trying to cut back for ages
difficalt one that.... Ive got a mk2 vr6 golf and the s2 avant, and for every day driving and ease of keeping it running id keep the Corrado VR6, but i do love the S2, hmm sorry not being much help here, could you sell the wife or kids instead?

is that why you got million pounds worth of s2 parts?
I would say if they are std, then the corrado all the way, but if you are thinking about tuning, the S2 m8, no other choice really
Having owned and driven many examples of both S2 and Corrado, I'd agree with the above quote. There's not that much scope for tuning the VR6 and at the end of the day it's front wheel drive so will struggle to get any serious power down especially in the wet. As we all know there is much that can be done to Audi's glorious I5 turbo engine with up to 380 BHP available on standard internals, coupled with the Quattro drive train it makes a splendid package. The S2 is A LOT more exclusive as well.
Out of the choice of Corrados I'd go for the G60 hands down over the VR6 anyday as their much more tunable and less common. I had a 200+BHP example after I sadly wrote off my 1996 VR6 and it was definitely quicker as well as handling better being less front heavy.
