People easily forget that we wouldn't have any of the coverage of F1 we get (whatever you think of it) without the influence Bernie has had.

I don't doubt for one moment that he has made some very unpopular things happen but he doesn't make the technical rules up, that's not his business.

On the other hand, he carries the can if he cannot muster a minimum of 20 cars for the grid at any race (I suspect the US GP that started only half a dozen was technically still a full grid prior to the decision of the Michelin teams).

Bernie bashing is a bit too easy! The little guy has done a lot for the sport, quite a lot of it has us tearing our hair out but it is so easy to forget the days when TV coverage was the start of the race, then they went away for an hour to show snooker or something and came back for a bit here and there and if you were lucky you saw the finish. Some might not enjoy the racing these days but you've at least got the option to see it or watch something else!

It's too easy cos Bernie has had his dirty mits all over F1 for years.... Who TF is interested in the Abu Dabi GP, the Turkey GP the fecking locals arn't its all about money in Bernies pocket....

He and his other 'arf own half the circuits that F1 use....

I love F1 - But Ernie & Matt Mosley (2 Partners In Crime) have only been interested in one thing LYNING THIER OWN POCKETS..... & Screwing as much as they can out of the poor old FAN's & as well as the Teams!!!!! (some who have not been paid TV rights for over 2 years)... If its all hunky dorey as you make out why did the teams INC Ferrari want to set up another championship.....

Ferrari have also taken BACK HANDERS FROM Bernie NOT TO ROCK THE BOAT!!!

Wake up and smell the roses M8.....

Like I said, not everything they do is right ...but it's the reason the sport is worldwide televised and at the end of the day it's nothing more than entertainment, I learned that about 15 years ago when I started in that business!

(The breakaway thing has been threatened so many times and this is the nearest it's come to actually happening ...I don't say the way it's run is right, but what I am saying is someone has to be running it or it will disappear ....who cares a toss about A1GP? Or Grand Prix Masters? They are good ideas but don't have the strength to make a dent in the perceived major championship)

I wouldn't kick them out but DQ from the 2009 season and a fine would suffice.

Is it just me or has Eddie Irvine just confirmed he is a complete muppet? I understand his point, but he's clearly spent a bit too much time with Ferrari/Schumi as he seems to feel that cheating and "war" tactics are a normal part of F1. Whatever happened to good, sporting behaviour in the spirit of healthy competition?

Apparently Renault are pulling out of F1, they may have been thinking about it before, I guess this was the last straw for them.

Also has anyone else spotted the common link between McLarengate and this latest Renault issue - non other than Fernando Alonso

All for convenient for Renault I think - let Flabio take it dry up the ahrse - he is minted anyway - he doesnt care... Then Renault can quietly retire from the 'sport' with less of the shame and a much reduced 'outgoings' box on next years corporate spreadsheet. Good riddence I say - I hope the whinging Spaniard goes with them too - though in fairness he has probably been utterly oblivious to the shady deal at Singapore.

It's a shame really because the Renault team is British based and most the people on the team are Brits. I did some work for them on the test team (already disbanded) a few years ago and they were a great bunch.

I'm not condoning what they did but I guess they just took "strategy" a bit too far!

What a little **** Piquet has turned out to be - I hope he never gets a drive in a race car again!

Why? he's blown the whistle on something in my book is beyond reproach.

Asking a driver to crash his car when he could be seriously injured or killed is f*cking stupid
