But he has only blown the whistle to spite the people who had fired him. He didn't expose it as a matter of principle at the time. This doesn't really show him to have great character and just reinforces what I had previously heard about him.

As for the ordering him to crash I didn't mean to trivialise it with "they just took "strategy" a bit too far!". They at the time probably saw what they were doing as "strategy". But I in no way think that what they did was right or is at all excusable and I'm not trying to defend what Renault did. I just think that this shows Piquet to be as much of a villain as Briatore and it is sad that all of the team will loose their jobs because of them.

How? If your in a job and you are told under orders to do something, the truth only ever comes out when you can leave the job with recrimination from your employers.

a) not done what he was told
b) done it, then blew the whistle on Flabio immediately
c) done it and shut the **** up forever so he wouldn't look like a slippery weasle when he wasnt getting a new contract
