better than putting anti freeze in her dinner then (sorry, we have a local celebrity poisoner who did that to her husband, brother of a mate of mine)
My mrs once mixed spot of bleach with an anti bacterial cleaner, shook it and almost cleaned the whole kitchen in one go, nasty fizzing reaction, not the same as the article, but funny to see her covered in it-
but it goes to show how dangerous stuff in the garage/shed can be.
When I was younger (15) was using grinder on my mark 2 escort next to a charging battery, didn t know about fumes coming off them-until a spark caught and there was a huge bang and I was covered in battery acid, at least I had goggles and a hat on-burnt my face and left with panda eyes for a week!

uckfa ema!! He's both really unlucky and really lucky all at the same time! Sounds like an NCIS plot!! How many times do you think any one of us has been close to such a situation and got away with it and therefore been blissfully unaware of the possible outcome? I'm a naturally cautious person and although I take the odd calculated risk here and there I would never have seen that coming. You would assume you could just keep your head out of the smoke or turn your head away to breathe but at that ratio he had little chance. Just to highlight my ignorance further I was under the impression that the two products were the same substances in different cans!
On a lighter note don't mix your household cleaners or your wife will shrink!
Thanks Rob I dare say you've saved someones bacon somewhere.
                Cheers,
                Dan.

Sorry, I took so long to write my last post that I hadn't seen yours. The shrinking your wife thing was nothing to do with your post which could have been pretty bad knowing what bleach can do and create. The reference is to an 80's film.
Just remembered that my stepmum was poisoned about 10 years back, along with quite a few other people, at the local pool because some numpty got the chlorine ratio wrong and gassed the swimmers. Luckily no lasting damage was done to anyone as far as I know but like you say it just shows you doesn't it?

Cut and paste onto a few 4x4 forums I use!
Opened my eyes a bit. Means I'll have check out what we use at work a little more as there is no mention of creation of Phosgene on the warning label. I'll be adjusting the risk assesment first thing monday if we use similar stuff, thats for sure!

                    Paul.

ive used alloy wheel cleaner when the brakes were still hot before in a rush to clean the car, put me in a sit down for 20mins with a burning sinus and watery eyes, very easily overlooked. Ill certainly be more careful after reading that, who knows what sods law can pull on you!

                              S H ! T E !
Makes me wonder what gasses I was breathing in when - as a kid - I used to mix pool chrlorine and brake fluid to watch it smoke and fizzle into flames.... (or better still in a plastic soft drink bottle, cap on and throw it over a fence into a vacant lot ..... KABOOM!)

                              DON'T TRY IT!
