Hi Guys,
I have come over to the Dark Side. Last night I bought my first S4. Its a 1992 Avant in pearl white and I think its wonderful.
Originally I thought the engine management was stock as nothing hand been mentioned regarding modification in the advert. However the guy took myself and Dave for a spin through his estate and the acceleration surge was well above what you'd expect from a stock 230bhp (17 year old) motor. I smiled and asked "so is the engine completely stock then" - to which he replied "no mate it's been chipped in Germany". He then added that the standard S4 chips were in the glovebox if I wanted the car returning to stock. As if...
The current seller (who only had the car a couple of months) didn't know anything about the new chips other than they were fitted in Germany and they had german writing on them. So what I wanted to do is to first 'find' the chips and then try and get some research done to trace their origins.
I've managed to trace the previous owner of ten years and plan to call him at the weekend. He's on business in Germany until then. The car has been in Kidderminster if anyone recognises the description. Its a left and drive, five speed manual with 16" Borbet Alloys.
So, where will I find the elusive 'go-faster' chips and does anyone know of this car?
