    Did some datalogging this weekend.
Cranked the boost to 2.15 bar (in 4th) (2.1 bar available in 3rd)
FATS time (4200-6500rpm in 3rd gear) off the VAGCOM log was 2.95 seconds.
60-90 off the accelerometer log was 2.72 seconds

Really easy to log FATS with VAGCOM, just log time vs rpm, for example measuring block 1 or 3, then enter the data into for example MRC's FATS calculator: http://www.mrctuning.com/fatsview.ph...elect=B5%20RS4

    Huge FATS database: http://fats.audi-quattro.org/

Even the cheap Ebay cables can do this. You can get one of those for less than £10 including shipping.

Yep, it moves along quite nicely now. It seems to prefer the E75 winter mixture over E85, I think the summer mixture puts the 044 pump over its capacity, even when fed by 14.5volts at the pump.
Nice, clean power curve without signs of misfires. 3 degs C outside, so power produced was more than 400whp and thanks to the higher boost, a new record of 600nm at the wheels.

what amazes me though is that you are producing the same torgue curve as my perfomance box does, and my figures are calculated in crank hp.

          i like yours get 580Nm from 3600rpm and hold 500Nm till 5300rpm,then 420Nm till 6000rpm .

          How is that possible?

Ethanol. I gained more than 20% torque at the same boost level when going from 99 octane to E85. The fuel is simply in another league.

Plug in the VAGCOM, do some 3rd gear FATS pulls and se what it can do

From a series of 5 runs with a GTech I'm getting an average of 6.1seconds for 60-90mph. This is from a stock engine and turbo, just running 1bar boost.

yes but fuel is in another league if you are actually taking advantage of it. If you are only having from 16 to 21deg of advance, it doesnt make sense to me(until of course someone explains it!! haha)

I may be wrong, but i thought that the rise in torgue, OR the ability to keep higher torgue for longer is what derives the higher hp.right?

the only difference i see is that your measurements are all calculated at the wheels. So really on all the rev range the losses should be added and that would make it around 480-500hp car and 680Nm crank.

do you have a rototest dyno close by?

Sounds about right, mine's certainly not stock and 3B 3rd is taller so can only be compared to other 3Bs.

Oh I forgot, it's got an ABY gearbox too.

Oh, bit of a difference then. Mine runs 1.5 bar peak so must make a difference.

What's involved in E85 conversion then? I suggest another thread is best

Two ways to take advantage of higher octane: more timing or more boost. Boost is milder on the engine, and is something that is easy to adjust. The fuel in itself will yield 5-10% more hp and 15-20% more torque running at the same boost level/timing.
With SAE corrected 400 hp and 575nm at the wheels, it should produce around 500hp and around 700nm at the crank.
Hp is torque times rpm, that is correct.
There is a Rototest in town, but with many dyno operators being somewhat clueless, that would be a waste of time. I have a good database of cars that I have tested. For example, the 4.2L S6+ put down 250hp and 288nm at the wheels (rated at 326hp/400nm at the crank, and the one tested was tuned). Measured a built RS2 from a famous German tuner to 315hp/400nm at the wheels (rated at 400hp/550nm crank), plus plenty of others Golfs, Audis, Minis, etc. Produces numbers spot on with the Mustang Dyno (made by the same company).

Quick answer: Needs 30-40% more fuel, so changes must be made to provide that: injectors, big enough fuel pump, wideband lambda is highly recommended and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator is handy to have. With big boost, colder plugs (Bosch F3CS) is a good idea.
