Just wondered if any one know of safe and tested tunning boxes or chips for diesel engines, mate of mine bought x3 sd with 286 bhp and after 1 week of ownership he wants more power.
I also would need bit more power for my a4 tdi 115bhp so I can keep up.
Don't buy anything off ebay for a start! The £25-£40 modules such as this one: http://www.sharkperformance.co.uk/br....0TDi%20PD170/ plug into the fuel temperature sender and fool the ECU into thinking the fuel is >120 degrees C which makes it inject more fuel. It's very crude and it doesn't increase boost so it's just throwing more fuel in. If you crack the box open, all you'll find inside is a 3p resistor.
What is it that your friend's bought? An X3 with the 35d engine?
