believe me those fences and gates will be no deterent.

my mate has a building like the one in the pic with wood at the side but his is a lot bigger.

the same building does taillifts for wagons and fork lift trucks and used to home his subaru performance garage.

the fences get cut open, locks chopped to drain waggons of diesel. the old workshop has 2 big 1/2 inch thick doors on it with a shutter behind. the cut ofdf the doors with hand tools, no grinder and nicked a crap load of snap-on tools.

gotta agree removing trackers is a specialist-ish job. but not that special.

all it requires is a little knowledge and some balls and usually in this day and age being tooled up in case.

hope it all turns out ok and at least nobody got hurt.

The phonelines were cut outside the building before the break in to prevent the alarm contacting the police. As has been mentioned above it doesn't look like the work the work of amateurs.

It's probably not wise to discuss specific security systems etc on the (any) forum while it is still being investigated by the police/CID.

Interestingly they choose to take my Avant which they didn't have the keys rather than take a Silver RS2 that they did have the keys for.

think its pretty common knowledge about security systems. its not hard to find out about building or car security placings. but yes i agree its nothing t odo with us what systems they have unless your car is there.

incidently phoneline being down usually throws up a monitor warning as this side is then disabled.

used to have the problem of cut wires here. there used to be a bank across from work here. the have used 2 methods. 1 rip said green box from floor with a tranny van and 2 do it proper via a person who knows the patching.

either way tossers who should have their hands removed and balls soaked in wonderwheels

Don't feel there's any need to discuss where the car was found. Just happy it was with minor damage from forced entry and hotwiring etc.

I think maybe a lesson to learn from this is to not advertise on any forums that your car is going to or is at MRC (or any other tuner/garage), just wax lyrical once it has been there...
The RS4 that went was known to be at MRC, and was a pretty well known car, as was Epic's S2.
We know certain morally challenged individuals spend time on audi forums with every intention of fleecing us, and there are probably far more lurking and coveting that we don't know about...

Fair point, I'm just aware of your excellent engine(s) to be honest but I do wonder if scrotes use these forums to keep an eye on what's tasty out there and where it is...

I don't get the feeling that particular cars were targeted. More a case of most cars that were there were non runners with engines / gearboxs etc missing.

As much as I hate to suggest it - statistically speaking - there must be low lifes watching this forum. Its impossible to police. This is why we ask everyone to be careful with personal info, reg plates and anything you wouldn't want to share with some random stranger. Over time you do build up trust with the genuine people on the forum. In all likelihood, MRC was probably targetted as a well known spot for hot/fast Audis - no different to any tuning shop from that point of view. All very sad for those affected.
