anybody else had a note left asking to buy their car?

Picture this boys..........

Havent seen my car all week and tonight go out the door and walk towards the car.

Get closer to car and realise a note has been left under the wiper......
First thought is
"Oh Fek somebody must of hit it...."
Read the note and it says....."If you want to sell this car ring this number"
Has anyone else had it where someone randomly approaches you about buying your car?
Its happened to me with 2 of my Audi's so far (both Avants)

also the scrappy note was writtain on the back of what appeared to be a court summons !

Yep, my Cav Turbo was not for sale. I had spent 2 years getting it exactly how I wanted and then got a call from my tuner out of the blue.
It had been featured in Total Vauxhall and I had mentioned my tuner in the "Thanks" box, he rang them to get my number, so they passed it on to me.
So I called, he basically said I want to buy your car, I said its not even for sale and I dont really want to sell it!
I basically said if you want it youve got to make me an offer I cant refuse.... it was worth 4k on a good day, he offered me 5.5k so I sold it!

But on a serious note, yes I have. Once I even had someone follow me flashing their lights and blowing their horn and then cut me up, slam on their brakes and jump out their car only to offer to buy it right there and then on the spot. I was pretty shocked that he didn't expect me to be so rude for driving like a complete ****!

Good feeling though when you see someone has left a note on your pride and joy.

I was going through a McDonalds drive through in my Cosworth and someone shouted asking if it was for sale.
Id just spent 3k on an engine rebuild so turned him down!

Well mine is 1995 too, 175k with all the toys and choice mods, TONS of history and people seem to think its not worth much atall... so your guess is as good as mine

cheers John thanks for the thought, its got a cat1 alarm and my Huge yellow steering wheel lock is on.....cant do anymore !

I had a guy force his number on me cause he wanted it. He said if you ever sell it can i have the first offer,this was as i was washing it.

Another guy knocked on the door and asked if he could speak to the owner of the green avant,my brothers girlfriend was in and nobody else. So he left his number. I rang him to give him the bad news and he said he'd been working over my way and had seen it everyday. He told me that he had a cab that he would part ex with it as he always wanted a S2.

It is a good feeling though when it happens.

so how come the only offer I've had for mine was a gypo in a Hyab who said "how much do you want for that old Audi?" The fecker wanted to pick it up with his crane and stuff it on the back of his low loader!!!
