Been for sale for a while that one. Should handle better than our beloved S2s but limited market for sure.

          why not buy an s2?
lots of reasons, availabilty, cost. Some people dont like turbos and prefer the linear power of the supercharger. I like it, its different

availability? they are practically giving them away on pistonheads ! Cost ? Surely converting a normal coupe to a different engine and running gear etc will be even more expensive than an S2?
Maybe ive got it all wrong but after owning an s2 5 times over and practically rebuilding them surely it would cost more time/money/effort to build from scratch.....which would be nothing even like an S2 !
But, then i suppose on the other hand being different is good....

Personally having owned a G60 Corrado I can see the appeal, it's a very tunable engine easily capable of 200bhp with great power delivery, the induction noise is quite special as well if you like to stand out. As conversions go this would be fairly straight forward, the G60 motor will bolt straight up to 2.0E coupé gearbox as it would to a 16V coupé also. The wiring is quite simple as well, G60's have a separate engine loom much like an S2 and the ECU is in the engine bay.

I'd want it in a quattro coupé though as the Corrado shell is superior in rigidity as well as being lighter so is IMO the better FWD option.

Not sure about the cheap insurance claim though, makes one start to question the mentality of the seller.
