    S2 specific custom parts

As many of you know, I've got a fair bit of time on my hands at the mo and the Designer in me wants to play and make a few £ to fund the car in the process . I'm looking for ideas for little bits and bobs and maybe some larger parts too that would be useful parts for the S2. I can then research, develop and design the parts and then have them made and sell them... A little help with ideas here would be really appreciated

I've identified a few parts, some small and others more Gucci:-

Alloy snub mount kit (as before).
3B breather union for simplifyling catch tank install.
    ABY catch tank kit.
Bonnet blocks for cooling on track cars.
OE style replacement S2 instrument faces.
    Aux. rad delete plugs.

There have got to be loads of these sorts of things that it would be nice to have specifically tailored for the S2, designed to fit and custom made from high quality materials. This might also cover some NLA parts.

Please post anything below that you think might be of use, I'd be very interested to hear what people are after, call it market research

They basically jack up the back of the bonnet, the Ford boys have been using them for years.
Of course there has been dozens of threads regarding whether they are any good etc... the one thing everyone does agree on is that you start to get annoyed with comments such as "oi mate, your bonnet isnt shut properly!"

What Dest said. I'll be looking into using these with the B4 style bonnet as the integral grille means that they might not work or will look a bit odd.

jsut remove the rubber strip on scuttle and unscrew the rubber headlight/bonnet panel.

job done. no need to look like a "dave" or like you shunted into the back of somebody.

how bout a triangluated brace for a wagner tubular ..lol

in all honesty andy gucci parts are only needed when oem is not available for the job. catch cans are easy to install. 2 lumps of bar chopped does the trick for the aux etc

oem has had millions put into design and if it lasts this long its good enough. most cars are perfectly good until they get modded.

not trying to put the idea down just into prospective.

cant see the need unless the bits are NLA or you have the hp to utilise things such as snub mount brackets. plenty of mods needed before then.

              Of course not...

Anyone got any ideas then, as per my original question?

So basicly you´re saying that for example a track car should run standard shocks/springs/bushes because they were good for Audi??

Edit: For example, tha plastic water connection on the back of the head tends to crack on cars, so we should not make an Aluminum one because Audi put in XXX€ in the plastic connection?

there you got one piece rusty..

i dont mean to sound harsh andy. it may be due to the fact i have to quantify investment against potnetial everyday so im straight with it.

thats one good idea fair doo's plastic to alloy is an improvement. id expect other areas too. one vag in general moved away from 20 odd years ago. you would sell a fair few of those.

a nice set of droplinks ala whiteline would be nice too.

dont think andy is talking about shocks springs and bushes and i was generalising. track type setups tend to be bespoke also. not worth andy spending time and money to be able to mini-produce and only sell a couple.

im sure there are lots. i was commenting mainly on the list presented at first.

I'm sure I could sort a nice RARB option, I've tried a few, that's for sure.
