Erm TT 5cyl engine (I'll get my coat now)

Hi guys not been about properly for a while but plenty of time to play after a bit of an accident.

So the question is are we capable of changing engine with a little bit of fuss to the new Audi 5cyl for the TT??

How much of a **** ache do you think???

Surely would be a good upgrade for the future

Already got coat in hand and running, just thinking it is not going to be long before the ones bought by idiots will start showing in the scrappies

That link doesnt work, theres a bit missing in the url.

Assuming the bolt pattern on the block to gearbox bellhousing is the same you would still need a new sump, as the tt one is a transverse arrangment. Also you would need the ECU to control the FSI injectors, which as with all modern audis, basically means you need lots and lots of other things as they are all linked together (can-bus) and may not function if there are certain parts missing, such as the dash.

As far as i know, it has the same stroke as the 2.5L stroker engines people are building for the S2, which is 92.8mm, pretty common across the VAG group for years now. All the magic will be in the head, with the FSI combustion chambers.

Still, good to hear that sound coming from a new audi again.

I could get the engine running without much of a problem on the standard ECU by removing the immobiliser on the ECU. This will allow the engine to run without the dash or key. It takes a bit of doing though!!!

        Would it really fit?

2006 Skoda Octavia vRS 2.0TFSi - goes fast
        1985 Audi 90 quattro - is wet

I wouldn't bother with one of these engines as they will be nowhere near as good as the old ones !
They will be aluminium block which, while is light, is not going to stand the test of time like the cast iron ones have . I doubt you will see anyone with a 700hp one of these and if you did it wouldn't last long.
If you have had any experience with the later vw Audi ali block motors compared to the old cast iron ones you will know what I mean.

If the head would bolt on then that would be good but I don't think it will, other than that forget it especially if you are going for big power.

            I second that!!!!!

The only plus point if it fits would be to lighten the front end with the alu block but the bhp would have to be low (compared to the s2's limitations any way)
Probably the longet S2 project in history EVER!
