CQ20v vs S2 Avant weight difference

Managed to get both cars through the NCT (MOT) in the last 48 hours. Was interesting to see there actual weights measured,

CQ20v was 1513kg with a FULL tank of fuel, S2 Avant was 1707kg with a 1/4 tank of fuel.

Would anybody have an MOT cert for an ABY coupe? I'm curious to see how much of the extra 200kg is the larger body vs engine and gearbox.

    Mark.

My aby coupe was just over 1/4 tank fuel and came to 1601Kg as listed under the brake test.

Very interesting, so an ABY avant is ~100kg more than an ABY coupe. If my googling is correct 70litres of petrol weighs 51.5kg, or 12.8kg for a 1/4 tank. So in theory the CQ20v with a 1/4 tank of fuel will be ~1500kg. 100kg less than an ABY coupe.

Thats really freaky the three work out almost exactly 1500, 1600, and 1700kg with a 1/4 tank

I always thought the book figure was 1440kg dry weight. Time to dig out the brochures....

20v.org lists 1440kg for pre 1990 models, and 1500kg for post 1990 models which seems spot on.

Holy smoke. That S2 is in dire need of some weight savings.
