Oil Recommendation

Picked up an Audi 80 2.8 quattro with 138000 miles last weekend, which will be converted to an S2 saloon once I get all the bits gathered up. Intendto use it during the winter ( keep daily driver good ). I see the are a few V6's on here, and would appreciate advice on what engine oil to use ( handbook spec is VW 500.00 and is n/a ), as I want to give it a service this weekend and change the heater matrix !
Will put up a few pics once it stops raining here !

I'd say any decent make of 10W-40 semi-synthetic should be just fine for your 80.
