here in the states I had bad luck with cheap air tools, I tend to like Snap-on or ingersol rand (IR), the 2nd of the two tend to cost less, another route is to find a good brand used on ebay and get them re-built if need be.
    Best Regards,

Depends what your after really. Ive had Chicago Pneumatic die grinders and pistol drills before for work and theyre pretty good and not too expensive.

Not sure about the halfords stuff, a friend of mine got a few bits from their range and they were all pretty much on/off, no speed control whatsoever.

Never bought or even used an air impact gun before, so I dont know much, except that you'll need a compressor that flows enough to get the best out of one.

Air sanders, drills, impact guns use a LOT of air , as said before it all depends on your compressor spec (working cfm and tank capacity) on which tools you can use.

I have a 14 cfm 50l tank compressor and can get ok use out of impacts, die grinder, saw, sand blaster,3/8 ratchet..........my air chisel kills the air and scares the neighbours!!(and deafens me.............pardon.........)

I'm assuming its for home, occassional use yes? then as long as you keep the tools oiled n filtered then you can get away with the cheaper stuff. Ive had a snap on(ingersoll rand) impact gun for 10+ years and it get used 75% on the day 6 days a week and never had a problem with it. and a cheap clarke die grinder that gets occasional use and its been exactly the same,

Be aware of the torque capacity on impact guns- some of the cheaper ones wont undo a wheel nut thats just done up hand tight!!!!!!

This is a good site for tips on air tools compressors etc etc (even though its a welding forum)

              Re: 034 coil packs

Its worth spending a bit on the gun. Cheap ones are crap and wont do wheel studs even though they are rated at 250 ftlb torque. Best one to get is a ir 2135qt titanium. It has more power than my big 3/4 drive gun and is light and compact. Ment to have a nut busting torque of 1000ftlb . Most powerfull 1/2 drive made. Not cheap but worth it. Great for hub nuts crank bolts etc. You will curse a cheap gun the first time it wont undo something.
