Dogbox@streets is ****ing awesome

Hi all,

just wanted to share my experience with a dogboxed Audi.

One of my customer asked me to break in his brand new 0 km Stroker S2 Coupe.Its got made in Hungary Dogbox with dog engagement on the first 4 gears.
Car goes really hard from 2.8k,limiter is currently at 4k and at 1bars of boost.Sometimes i hit the limiter,sometimes the boost cut.WOW.Tall deck stroker with GT30R,tubular,VEMS and 1000cm3 injectors,7A cams on mech lifters.Idles,rides,cold and hot stars like a stock car,lambda 1 easily.

So i will have soon a fully tuned stroker map for my customers avaiable.

I was never a fan of racing tech on the streets,after i driven a Shepherd Talon which was a pain to shift...

But this works really well...

If you have it before 2nd week in jan i'll use it as a base map

i am doing a dog-box buildup this winter for mine.... right now PAR Engineering gearset is what i have chosen, but open to other suggestions

Stock,not sure about the name but he is located here in Budapest/Csepel Industy.

The owner wanted a more precise engagement than the stock 6spd has...
With the stroker/gt30r combo there is not much lag left...

If i read correctly the gear ratio is stock ? Is the gear change faster than stock ? it is sensible harder to shift than normal gearbox ? , and can custom ratio gearsets be made ? and if you have ideea about a price ? thanks.

it is sensible harder to shift than normal gearbox ?you MUST shift harder/faster its a dogbox.
, and can custom ratio gearsets be made ?currently it looks like not.

and if you have ideea about a price ?not cheap.

I asked the guy who is responsible for the transmission.The gears are stock,only the engament is made to be "dog".Also the car features 3 special made torsens.grips nicely.

I still have to make 200kms with the car,but now i let it boost to 1.4bars. man, the thing moooves.

Got the config switch wired in,works well,no glitches between shifting two similar maps.cool.

Dog box on the road must be kind of crazy ! I just picked up a Hewland 6 speed dog box for a car I'm doing but I really wouldn't want to be doing many road miles on it considering the rarity and rebuild costs !

ah,no,its not mine and i dont want to kill it.

how is it made properly?lift the throttle a little for releasing the power from the gears,than shift fast?

Can't blame you for not wanting to kill it, certainly sound like a interesting cheaper option when you consider the cost of a proper dog box.
