I tried motorgeek, but the few replies I have had are not too positive?
THere was a description of the CCK's on this forum posted by quattronics when they dealt with him but I can't find that anywhere. Has it been removed?
Cheers

Im in the same boat as you chris. I spoke to carsten but kw on offer a v3 kit for the type85. Ive got a brand new kw v1 kit for an s2 sat here that i was hoping to use on my 90q with a set of 3b hubs. That plan has gone out the window as i cant find a way of doing it without changing, box, diff etc etc
Im looking at the kits supplied by compbrake and the one lindhl is offering but not sure what inserts to use atm.

I went over and peeked in at the MG site and sorry you had to experience that. It's funny when you haven't participated at a forum in over 5 years how the rumor mill works. I've never, even once attempted to become an 034 distributor tho I still purchase things from them for my personal use. If anyone thinks otherwise feel free to ask Javad. I distribute for no one beyond myself, never have, never will. Has nothing to do with quality but simply my situation. I'm retired, don't even run a web site and have no need to advertise. I'm happy doing my own thing and don't "need" to do this but I enjoy the work, especially the research, testing and design. And at times just "word-of-mouth" keeps me busier for months than a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.
I make suspension widgets, but I don't sell Bilsteins or coilover springs. Sure I could "distribute" them for someone but again, if I don't make or modify something, I don't sell it. I'm not a full-flegded business.
And in spite of what some would tell you at MG I do happen to make a CCK for the 4k front. Rear is even easier as it remains the same on later chassis's. Only thing affecting the 4k not found on later vehicles is the smaller 50mm front strut tubes compared to the later 55mm strut tubes. Well, guess what? If ya make an alloy sleeve with a 50mm ID and a 55mm OD and slide that on to the 50mm strut. You now have the par-equivalent strut housing diameter as the later cars that existing CCKs made for those cars just happens to fit like it was made for it. I'm susprised no one thought of it before. I'm MORE surprised it took me so long to discover it! It was right there all along, for 20+ years staring us ALL in the face! A simple "spacer sleeve!"
But the MG site is probably not going to put me in a very good light. Tho you can't swing a cat around this forum without hitting someone I've sold to and/or personally dealt with. Feel free to ask ANYONE here if their feelings about me personally or my products are similar to what you heard at MG.
Who told you it ain't possible? I always thought it would, but haven't tried myself.
i did been there tried it but i had 7a front hubs no 3b ones and the type 85 90 quattro shaft (kv engine) is too thin. i aint tried myself with a 3b outer but i would put good money on it not using thinner shafts than a 7a
im on with trying leda suspension see if they will build me a custom setup to my specs ive heard some good stuff about there kit as well
I know of a car that has been converted to s2 hubs and housing + struts on a car with type 85 gearbox.... cant remember what it was no, but i think he shortened the cv joint or the shafts... so it is possible
