I'm currently with AON but since the takeover they've become expensive and unhelpful. e.g. they wouldn't even insure the shorty that I'm looking at because it had been chopped in half. Performance Direct said 'no problem sir, that will be £150 for the year'. And yes I declared the kevlar bodykit, the fact that it was 19" shorter, none standard wheels, large spoiler and tweaked engine.

Try and get as many examples as poss from autotrader, ebay, Pistonheads etc.... also say you were in the process of selling and agreed a figure with the buyer. may help. if the car isn't in too big a mess, try and by back the car from the insurance company (which is usually very cheap) so you can salvage/sell any parts.
