Exactly my point.... they have just hosted a cheapish website to make it look like they're putting effort in and using the word "tradition" in a cunning manner. Most of the parts available are in stock at dealerships and some are even cheaper to buy from there...

Publicity stunt thats hollow and unlikely to materialise into the "dream" scenario of parts supply

I've been conversing recently with my contact at the classic parts centre (CPC) and he has this to say on the subject of Audi Tradition:

            Hi Ben,

of course you could order by Audi Tradition. The online shop is on the stocks, so they prefer German speaking customers at the moment. It is much easier also for the shipment. But they sell also parts to customers around the world.

Audi Tradition and the Classic Parts Center are two different departments. The CPC exist since about 10 years. Audi Tradition since a year. In the past we have also sold all Audi parts. In the future we will gear the stock levels to Audi Tradition. So it might be possible that some parts will be available only from Audi Tradition.
But of course it is possible to deal with myself. I can order parts from Audi Tradition for you. We are in close contact with them.

If they can manage to get Audi Tradition up to the same standard as the CPC then I don't think parts supply will be too bad. It will take time but in the eight months I've been dealing with classic parts they have always been very helpful.

Of course it won't be possible to please everyone and people will still complain about pricing etc.

            Ben
