Team AME Racing, participating in competitions in drag-racing, prepared for the hazards unique instance Volkswagen Polo, which is equipped with turbocharged 1.9-liter engine. "Engine", docked with a six-speed manual gearbox, "gives" 1032 hp and 950 Nm of torque. I am pretty sure they now use an R32 turbo engine rather than the 16v. Insane power in something so light, doesn't even seem to have a big cage in there?
Personally if you watch the video you will see he doesn't get a good start on that race against the audi but by the end ( 1/8th mile) he is clearly catching.
Norris Evo does 100mph in 4 seconds and 150mph in 8secs with the old spec engine, no nitrous on treads
To be fair, the Reyland car is alright but nothing special in comparison to the AG Focus or Tommy Fields ex WRC Escort which were giving everything a hard time when they went.
The bogey is insane, by far the most mental 4 cylinder in this country, still needs tons of development though and I guess he is rather busy with day to day to work but I am sure he will eventually smash his already ridiculously fast performance times !
Jonus ( is it ?) Audi is awesome, never seen official times from it but I know they claim a mental amount of power from it and it does launch like a mother f***er.
I'd love to go out there though, besides the fact their power figures seem a little optimistic they have the worlds best selection of performance cars out on track at one time and generally the event looks far beter than anything I would ever expect to see in this country, pricey though I heard which is what does put me off at the moment.
its a fantastic event. there must be other more hardcore events too because when on the way to rudskogen at the traffic lights leaving sarpsborg i chatted to a guy in a 911. a race spec car in the old martini colours. i asked if he was off to gatebil and he said no he was going to a different track event. the figures id say are not optomistic. the slower cars do tend to be cossies.when i was there a rather fast fiat uno was running along with the usual suspects. turbos are large shall we say. id say most cars are 500+ with the higher end average maybe 700. also its not like uk. they put lots of big horse cars on the track at the same time and no black flags. it looks a little on edge at first as we are used to the claim/blame society here. you get somebody drifting whilst a car passed them at silly speed. bumpers rip off. a porsche carrera GT lost its rear carbon and taped it back on.
costs. well where to start.
there aint a ferry anymore from newcastle to norway or anywhere to norway really. its fly. i flew from birmingham for 50 quid all in. hired a car from torp bout 150 for the week.
the local travellodge type place in sarpsborg is 170 quid a night! we stayed in a rather nice hostel. 50 quid a night. beer is mortgage tackle. sarpsborg has 3 pubs i can think of. the little-bighorn steakhouse costs about 55 quid for steak and chips. mcdonalds is 7 quid a meal. buying bottles of scotch and fags from the airport is the way to go. 15 quid for 2 litres and 20 quid a sleeve at the time. tenner for 6 stubbies from duty free. the local co-op charges 13 quid for 4 cans of guiness. food at rudskogen is ok. they do good burgers for not too much. not like the crap over here from burger vans.
ideally id take a car if i could get close to norway from here and fill it with booze and the camping kit and camp onsite at the show. thats the cheapest option. a crate of stella will be worth about 100 quid over there. flog um.
sorry for such a long post. im hoping to get there again this year.
Yes I believe the dyno settings are incorrect, that or simply it made that power once and they never run it at that power in the car if we talking bench dynos.
You can fluff dyno figures easily or the run down calibration can easily be incorrect.
If you put the same car on the same day in the same place on 10 different sets of rollers I guarantee the results would all differ, some way more than others.
For example someone I know with a Nova Turbo made 360hp on a 2l with a Cosworth T34.48 @ 1.05 bar, those turbos will do about 380 at 2 bar normally and around 300 @ 1 bar so clearly something on that r/r setup wasn't right yet the owner was adiment (sp) it had 360hp when it can't of.
I use the Norris Evo as a reference as its a uk car so most people over here know about it and the times it has done would show it is the power he claims, 165mph on the 1/4 is mentally fast.
Rolling Roads are a tuning tool, figures should only be quoted as whp anyway and even then quite a lot of time it would seem that miles out !
PS trims should be off the car this weekend for you, sorry for the delays
