Bizarre world of selling a car on Ebay

I'm selling our 15 year old Golf TDi... and since I managed to sell my old Audi 16v coupe by advertising on Ebay, I thought I'd try it again.

So... put it on the Bay with £350 tag including tax but only 3wk MoT and some chugging hesitancy at lower revs....

I had 45 people watching and not a single bid. And only one phone call. When I cancelled the auction I finally got three phone calls.

Seems weird to me. If people were watching why didn't they ring and come look at it and make me a cash offer?
    SOLD !

Ebay is a bit wierd, everyone wants a bargain, almost worth dropping the price half way through to give the impression that they're getting something for holding out...

Yeah sure - and people who have nothing better to do... but 45 watchers is a lot! Mind at least three of the callers were people hoping to buy, tart it up and sell. Including one dismantler
        SOLD !

I had over 50 watchers initially for my S2, then dropped to high 40's! One bid which was the winner Mallster.. certainly weird but true about other people with same item seeing how much things go for..
              Missing her lots!

my tilt bed car trailer is on there now, 83 watchers, 2 days to go and only one bid!
fantastic trailer, but like always with ebay they want to pay you less than true value

And they missed out on a cracking car chris! it's always the same even on pistonheads, at the end of the day if you know what you want, you will buy it!

as mentioned some people have little else to do. My s2 was the first car i'd bought from ebay, was never keen on the idea, but there is a lot of genuine people selling genuine cars, for instance.... the way and advert is presented spelling, the e-mails back ond fore can determine what type of person is selling the car, like chris (neebovver) explained the good and the bad in his deacription and was honest all the way, maybe i was lucky as you do hear some real horror stories!
