    Small Turbo

Some of you may be aware of Rod Tarrys Sierra Cosworth. So far it has cracked 208mph in 1.25 miles and now he is looking for ( I believe ) 215mph in the same distance so a new engine and now even bigger turbo from the recent dyno day has been fitted to help achieve this.

    The pictures say it all.

All of this + a LOT of nitrous and owned and driven by someone over 60 !

    Oh and its 2wd

Hahaha, thats insane, nearly as big as some of the "small" turbine engines I see at work.

That reminds me too, I should invest in Shell/BP/Esso.

TBH and I am sure you will agree a lot of the crap that comes with all the top speed stuff annoys me but most of it is forum banter.

It can't be denied though Mark does know how to build a proper engine and map them as well.

I still shudder just at the thought of how much power that engine develops within 3000 - 4000rpm let alone what it would be like with the gas switched on !

Its mentally fast, I'd love to see it on track being driven with some proper aggression !

Mapping that on the road must be a frightening experience, 10 seconds on WOT in 5th and I should think your seeing nothing but solid white lines and the inside of your own head as your eyes get pulled back towards your brain.

In one way pointless, but in another a very impressive achievement to see those sort of figures from such a small engine.

Awesome build, that turbo is unreal. The power curve really is quite something and the torque is mighty impressive as well. However I don't reckon it'd be any real use on track, apart from pure tyre shredding fun. A similar car with a smaller turbo, less power/torque combined with less lag would be quicker round anything other than a track with very long straights. Extremely impressive none the less, I assume the guy's using some sort of custom gearbox to achieve that speed.

He uses a Tremec gearbox and some oldschool rear diff, seems to do the job.
