nope only shell has to be destroyed

all interior and engine can be salvaged. I have know a car to be delviered to the dealer without engine and inteior but valid tax and mot and they accepted it. Another one had snapped timing belt and didnt run.

When my mates mum was buying a new car anyway she traded in his broken one (he bought the new car to let the scheme work)

It went in with

Wrong head-held in by 2 bolts
Holed pistons
Timing belt off
No wiring/coolant hoses connected to the head
No battery
2 random seats with only the drivers bolted in
slightly spray painted random colours

It was accepted!

Its a sad scheme though, so many nice cars gone, at the dealership he went to they had just taken in a mk1 golf gti 30,00 miles, 1 lady owner with full history

That is tragic.

It's such a stupid scheme. They're threatening to fine us if we don't recycle & excessively taxing us so we consume less.

Yet they'll pay us to scrap a perfectly good car!

I've currently got your old S2, the one just bought from PH, 2.0 16V saloon quattro, 10V 2.3 coupé quattro, a turbo scirocco GTX, a spare scirocco GTX, and a scrapped S2 Avant (maybe hoarding a little!!).

Over the next few weeks ill be making a plan on what's going and what's staying, will also have a fair few parts up for sale. Ill give you first shout on yours back though.
